I'm hearing a lot of rhetoric flying back and forth on what constitutes morally upright use of the logistics suit and evil "slayer" usage. I'm pretty unclear on where the line is between the two, so I'm going to post a few fits and I want you to tell me whether you consider them an "abuse" of the logi suit, and why.
Fitting 1: Logistics M/1 1x CRW-04 Scrambler Rifle 1x Core Locus Grenade 1x Ishukone Nanohive 1x N-11/A Flux Drop Uplink 1x A-45 Quantum Active Scanner 1x Complex Light Damage Modifier 3x Basic Armor Plates
Fitting 2: Logistics M/1 1x Gek-38 Assault Rifle 1x M1 Locus Grenade 1x Allotek Nanohive (R) 1x Stable Drop Uplink 1x A-45 Quantum Active Scanner 2x Basic Shield Extender 1x Complex Light Damage Modifier 1x Enhanced Cardiac Regulator 2x Basic Armor Plates
Fitting 3: Logistics M/1 1x 'Dren' Assault Rifle 1x Core Locus Grenade 1x Allotek Nanohive (R) 1x Wiyrkomi Triage Nanohive 1x A-45 Quantum Active Scanner 3x Basic Shield Extender 3x Basic Armor Plates
Fitting 4: Logistics M/1 1x Charge Sniper Rifle 1x M1 Locus Grenade 1x Ishukone Gauged Nanohive 1x Stable Drop Uplink 3x Complex Damage Modifier 1x Enhanced CPU Upgrade 2x Basic Armor Plates

The sniper fit isn't really a support logistics, though I have a pretty similar fit myself. A 2x equipment scout suit would be a better (more "thematic") basis for that, if one exists.
What really matters is your playstyle though.
If they took away all but one equipment slots, would you still use the logi suit? If so, you are probably more of an assault logi, and chances are that at some point CCP will make changes that will result in you switching to an assault suit.
If they gimped the weapon on the suit, would you still use it? If so, you are probably a support logi.
Either of those changes would make me abandon the suit. I would happily sacrifice high and low slots (AKA EHP), even my grenade slot, to keep the ability to have 3 pieces of equipment and a competitive light weapon on the same suit. |

If losing some weapon effectiveness would make you abandon triple equipment slots by moving to a different suit then I'd say you are an assault logi.
I mean... losing "some" weapon effectiveness would be fine. 10% damage drop? 15%? 20%? No problem. Weapons cost double fitting requirements? Also fine. But the only suggestion I've heard for reducing logi weapon effectiveness is a restriction to sidearms only, which... no. 20 meters is not an acceptable range for self defense. |

Therefore yes, you are a murder logi.
My alternative module is what, though? 22hp basic shield extenders, since I don't have the SP or PG (after nanohives and uplinks) for complex? Those are useless. So are precision enhancers, shield rechargers/energizers, myofibrils, and literally every other high slot module. Damage mods are literally the only worthwhile high slot module.
I'd love to see a high-slot speed/stamina module, or a high-slot fitting upgrade module, or maybe as someone-I-forget-who suggested, tie scanner precision to suit precision to encourage me to run precision enhancers. |
